About the Role

Reporting to the team manager, you will work closely with a wide range of people in various roles. The key purpose of this role is to assess further advances and variations for home loans, as well as new applications within the set credit guidelines. At times, having the opportunity to assist the specialist lending team will provide you with a valuable cross training opportunity.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Processing and deciding credit applications in a consistent and timely manner, all within the accordance of the company’s risk management policy.
  • Assisting in the education of the sales team, and the lending team in the product and processes.
  • Ensuring service deliverables are satisfied within the agreed parameters.
  • To outline and recommend product or policy amendments to ensure the business has leading product innovation and risk management.
  • Approve or decline applications which fall within your delegated lending authority.
  • Maintaining relationships with the key stakeholders within the business.

About you

A minimum of 2-4 years of residential mortgage experience is essential. Applicants with experience as a credit analyst/Mortgage Underwriter are preferred. To succeed in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual, who is able to flourish producing a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment. You will also be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the lending sector, with some knowledge of regulatory frameworks, and perhaps your Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Brokering. It is essential that you can communicate and work effectively within a team environment. Past experience working on PAYG and Self Employed residential mortgages credit applications is desired.
